NASHVILLE, Tenn. – New construction threatens the “37 steps” walked by Opry stars from the Ryman Auditorium to the back door of Tootsies Orchid Lounge in downtown Nashville.
Tootsies recently discovered its neighbor, The Second Fiddle, was building a screen wall between the two businesses, but they did not ask for permission.
“We received numerous complaints that they were down working without a permit,” Byron Hall with Metro Codes said. “When I left and went down there, there were some guys down there building a couple of walls.”
Hall said the bar started working without applying for a permit, in addition to not talking with the Metro Historic Zoning Commission.
