On her 2009 hit, “Party in the U.S.A.,” Miley Cyrus sang about feeling out of place in Los Angeles, at a club that was “definitely not a Nashville party.”
But on Friday, she was back in Nashville, and definitely in her element.
The pop superstar teamed up with Spotify to take over the rooftop of Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge — Music City’s most famous honky tonk — to celebrate the release of her new album, “Younger Now.”
A small group of fans and friends got the invite to the private event, which featured a concert, Q&A session and other Miley-styled diversions: a cotton candy bar, face painting, balloons and photo booths.
One hour into the celebration, Miley made her way to the rooftop, and went behind the bar to make her way to the venue’s stage. She sat down for a free-form question and answer session with her fans, mostly centering around her new album.
